Personal Space

We’re all sticking close to home these days, which makes living in a space that feels safe and nurturing more important than ever. In these uncertain times, creating a home or space that provides a sense of calm and care can have a significant impact on your wellbeing and help reduce stress and worry.  The upside is you don’t have to tear down walls or even makeover an entire room to achieve that benefit on the inside. Even a small shift in your personal environment can create an uplifting and healing ripple effect to carry you through the day and into your life. And that sounds pretty good to us right now. So here, we’re sharing our favorite “C’s” to design a happier, healthier homelife and the simple ways to do it.

Cozy

From fragrance to furniture, creating a cozy home is a total sensory experience. Look around the house and pull out anything that makes you feel good. Wrap up in your favorite throw blanket, pile on extra pillows to sink into, swap out bright lightbulbs for ones with a heartwarming glow or light candles anywhere from the kitchen to the bathroom to enhance the cozy vibes.  And don’t forget your greens! Clipping just a few sprigs of fresh greenery from your backyard and placing in a vase can quickly cozy up your space and infuse nature’s nurture.

Comfy

Now is your chance to take lounge appeal to a whole new level and create the WFH uniform of your dreams. Want to stay comfy but still feel pulled together? Cashmere toppers and wraps are our go-to for an easy piece to throw on over anything, even your pjs! Enveloping yourself with soft and forgiving fabrics feels like a welcome hug. But staying comfy is about more than what you’re wearing—it’s also about how you’re nourishing yourself on the inside with the food you’re eating. Whether you’re cooking for one or an entire family, try sneaking in some extra lemon, garlic, onions and oregano for an immunity boost. Tired of making the same things over and over? Check out our personal favorite @halfbakedharvest for inspiring recipes and cooking how to’s.

Calm

Take a break from the news and dive into that book you’ve been wanting to read or get out a jigsaw puzzle and focus your thoughts on finding the right piece. Both activities have been found to lower stress and relieve tension—two things that also help keep you healthy. Have a tub?  Soaking in a hot bath is another calm-inducing activity with proven health benefits. CLICK HERE for easy detox baths using household products. And never underestimate the calming power of a few deep breaths.

DON’T FORGET THE MOST IMPORTANT “C”

VITAMIN C

This immunity boosting vitamin encourages the production of white blood cells, which help protect the body against infection. It also helps white blood cells function more effectively while simultaneously protecting them from damage by potentially harmful molecules, such as free radicals. More good news, Vitamin C is an essential part of the skin’s defense system and can act as an antioxidant to help strengthen the skin’s barriers.
