I have some big news to share with all of you. After 15 years of pouring myself into this beautiful business, I have decided it’s time to focus my energy on my baby girl Coco, who is the light of my life. I recently heard the metaphor that time is like a melting ice cube and I want to soak up every drop I can with her. In turn, Bixby & Ball will be closing its doors at the end of May.
While change is inevitable and also integral to our personal growth and evolution, it’s often bittersweet and this decision certainly comes with sadness for everything I’ll miss about Bixby & Ball — our team, our community, our special little cottage, the feeling I get when creating vignettes throughout the shop — all of it. But there’s also excitement and celebration for what is to come, for all of us. For me personally and the joy of motherhood, for my team and the opportunities that await each of them, for our community and what comes next in our place. I remember how excited we were to get the key to the cottage back in 2010 and now it will be someone else’s turn to open the door to their entrepreneurial dream.
I want to extend my deepest gratitude to our customers, many of whom have been with us since we first opened our doors, for welcoming us into your homes and giving us the opportunity to do what we love each day. You have become part of our Bixby & Ball family and we will miss you tremendously. And to my team, you are truly the best of the best and I am forever grateful to each of you for giving of yourselves so generously to help me grow this business into what it is today. I never could’ve done it without you and I wouldn’t have wanted to anyway. From the beginning, my biggest hope was that stepping into Bixby & Ball would feel less like visiting a store and more like coming home, and I think we’ve done that together.
So let’s honor what we have created and make these last few months a celebration to remember. We would love to see you and say goodbye in person, so please stop by to enjoy the discounts and take a few more pieces of us home with you. And we’re already busy planning our big going away party at the end of May! We hope you’ll join us for our final send off (details to come).
In the meantime, thank you again for 15 years that have shaped me in ways I never could have imagined. What an amazing gift, what an incredible ride.
All my best,
FOUNDER & OWNER
